|Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College Bidar in collaboration with Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) organized one-day training on “ISRO Satellite Remote Sensing Based Societal Applications on the Web” to the staff and students of 7th semester of CSE, ISE, ECE, MECH and CIVIL engineering in GNDEC Bidar on 13th Nov 2016.
Inaugurating the program by Scientist C.J. Jagadeesha of ISRO, Bangalore he said ISRO is world’s renowned agency of India, which has done tremendous progress in Indian space technologies development, he lauded the effort of Indian space scientist that developed a new and economical technology to send a satellite to Mars much cheaper than other country technology.|
He also said, the ISRO has come up with various training program like Downloading images of earth, analyzing processing it to extract various pattern of it he added. Further he said, this can be a good project for the final year students for working on digital signal processing, image processing and pattern recognition.
The hands-on experience was given to students like how to manage ground water, reservoir water, sharing of water between states, traffic management, mineral extraction, etc with the help of online images in the Bhuvan website which is official website created by ISRO.
Nearly 100 students and staff members were trained during one-day training. Principal Dr. Ashok Biradar, Administrator Sardar Jagtar Singh, T&P Officer Prof. Rajshekhar G were present.
